The members of the FAMU DCSS, often referred to as FAMU PD, understand the importance of what they do and have a strong sense of duty when it comes to their mission and vision of protecting and serving the students, visitors, faculty, and staff within FAMU. the only HBCU law enforcement agency to be accredited by three separate law enforcement accrediting bodies.
Interim Chief of Police John Cotton, Jr., is passionate about the concept of community policing that is at the heart of the culture within DCSS.
