FAMU COVID-19 Vaccination Site Moved to Mobile Unit on Ardelia Court
Florida A&M University’s (FAMU) vaccination site has been relocated from a house on Gamble Street nearby to a mobile unit at 659 Ardelia Court.
Other than the location, the operation remains unchanged, said Director of Student Health Services Tanya Tatum. Staff at the site administered 107 vaccines Tuesday, bringing the total to more than 15,000 doses of vaccine since it opened in February.
The site offers the Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday. No preregistration or appointment is required. However, to register visit:
Since the latest surge due to the spread of the Delta variant, the number of people coming to get vaccinated has increased, though not in the same numbers as those getting tested.
“We need more people to come and get vaccinated,” Tatum said. The testing site is within walking distance of the vaccination site, she said. “It’s right around the corner.”
Staff at the Bragg Memorial Stadium Testing site performed 3,714 tests Tuesday, bringing the total to more than 419,600 performed since April 2020. Of the 3,288 individuals who took the rapid tests Tuesday, 12.68 percent of them tested positive for COVID-19. Individuals have the option having a PCR test or a rapid test.
Testing is conducted 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Saturday. Tests are free and no registration or appointments are required.
