FAMU President Robinson Announces Phase II of Administrative Restructuring

Florida A&M University (FAMU) President Larry Robinson, Ph.D., announced the second phase of administrative restructuring designed to improve the University’s operational effectiveness on its quest to become a top 100 national public university and a Carnegie R-1 institution.

The changes, most of which became effective on July 1, support the new five-year strategic plan, Boldly Striking, are designed to place FAMU among the top tier State University System (SUS) institution in performance outcomes, and improve organizational effectiveness and transformation as well as to bring the University in line with industry and SUS best practices.

In December 2022, as part of the Phase 1 of an administrative restructuring to increase institutional efficiency, President Robinson announced the creation of the chief operating officer post. Donald Palm, Ph.D., has been named to succeed the first COO Maurice Edington, Ph.D., who is leaving to be the next president of the University of the District of Columbia (UDC).
